Default Ferstler Moves On

Hey, Suckers,

I am about to move on. I dropped by to take a look a while
back and got sucked into "debating" issues with some of you
just like in the old days.

However, the old days are past, and so I am going to move on
for a while. I will drop in later on to see what is
happening. My guess is that when I do so it will again be
"business as usual" in this little fool's paradise. Given
that many of you know next to nothing about audio, and do
not care to learn much about it, anyway, and quite a few
seem to spend more time dropping insults than discussing the
hobby, I find it comforting to see that there are probably
only a dozen or so regulars who contribute. The rest drop
in, look around, and then move on ASAP.

Frankly, I cannot see how some of you people stand each other.

Do let us know how the book sales went after this little visit of
yours.

Bull****. You started e-mailing me about a column I wrote three years
ago, and then you freaked out when I didn't respond to you, so you came
trolling here.

So when will you be "moving on" to another plane of existence, and stop
bothering people who are still leading productive lives?

I did not freak out. I saw the internet column and decided,
because my name had been mentioned, to send you a note.

We "debated" for a while via email, and then, after you
realized that you were not able to back up your claims about
the LP record and tube amplifiers (because they are silly),
you had a filter installed that would cause your server to
reject messages by me. "I don't want to hear the truth,"
says you.

What a medieval attitude you have.

Howard Ferstler

We didn't "debate for a while" via e-mail. I didn't even read your
e-mails. I did, however, respond to you here. You started spouting
your usual gibberish, including reposting your dreary, irrelevant
ruminations on Spinoza for no apparent reason other than to spam the
newsgroup. Explain to us again how Spinoza and the LP are connected.

The reason no one listens to you has nothing to do with whether or not
you're speaking the truth. It has to do with your writing style.
That's why you are "retired." You're a desperate, lonely old man who
desperately wants someone to notice him. So you act like a fool,
arguing with complete strangers on the Internet.

Good luck with that.

Now, don't tell fibs. Nobody here believes that you at least
did not scan the messages for cannon fodder.

This is funny. We have Middius and other goofballs spouting
here all the time and you lambaste me for posting a
published article I wrote on the philosopher Spinoza.

The reason no one listens to you has nothing to do with whether or not
you're speaking the truth. It has to do with your writing style.

Because I do not treat you nitwits with the respect you
think you deserve. Well, pal, you guys do not deserve any
respect at all. You are a misleading blot on the whole
business of audio.

Nope. Surely by now you should realize that no one reads what you
write. I've never been able to get through more than a paragraph of
your writing, and I'm someone who has read Ulysses, Gravity's Rainbow,
and The Sound and the Fury several times. You stink as a writer.
Mechanically, it's all okay, but there is no wit, no insight, no
imagination, no style. Your prose could have been written by a
computer program. I tend to avoid it like the plague.

I know saying that I secretly do read your stuff is some kind of weird
strategy that you're trying to employ, but the truth is, Howard, you're
a boring writer, and that I have better ways to invest my time.

And again, what does that have to do with vinyl and turntables?

But what you fail to realize is that your respect is of no consequence
to anyone other than yourself. Your wrecking ball turned into a powder
puff. You retired because you didn't matter anymore. People stopped
listening to you and started making fun of you. You were caught
plagiarizing, and that completely destroyed whatever credibility you
thought you had.

And yet you come slinking back in here periodically, hoping that
everyone forgot what a fool you made of yourself. You look like a
mental patient, limping back in here for your biannual dose of
ridicule.

You and Arny are two reasons why I no longer hang around here very much
anymore. It got to the point where I recognized that the two of you
were genuine headcases, not an anonymous Internet approximation of one.
I wouldn't associate with such lowlifes in the real world...why would
I here?

Good example of a self-proclaimed tough guy who gets his laughs and giggles
by trying to beat up on retiress. Mid-life crisis anybody?

What's a "retiress"? Is there something you want to tell us about
Howard's sexual identity? Or are you just daydreaming again?

Putz.

I must say that this is a conundrum at best.

Previously, someone indicated that I was a religious fanatic
of some kind. I posted the Spinoza article to illustrate my
approach to religion. I was not under the illusion that it
would change tweakos into sane people.

However, given that Spinoza personifies the very height of
17th century rationalism, and rationalism in general, and
lionizing the LP record as a format that is superior to any
of the mainstream hi-fi digital formats is the very height
of irrational behavior, I think posting the article was on
the mark and upheld a principle.

Howard, since all amps sound the same, no one cares anymore. We just
get a stereo from Wal-Mart.

Well, there are limits. All amps do not sound the same, but
most - certainly the decently designed jobs that have
adequate power and are not called upon to handle oddball
loads - certainly do.

One would think that intelligent people would be thrilled by
this news and would then spend more wisely and use the
savings to purchase more recordings - or food.
Unfortunately, the typical tweak audio buff is not
intelligent, at least not in the Platonic sense.
