Default Primer for high impedence systems ?


What is a good source for a beginner dealing with 25V/70V
high impedence sound systems??

Oh it's you again !

I see you're as clueless as ever.

I'm familiar with ' 70V line ' ( popular in USA ) and ' 100V line ' (
popular in UK and elsewhere ) but never seen 25V suggested as a
distribution method.

It's a way of connecting multiple speakers to a single amplifer that
allows ( by use of a tapped transformer ) each speaker to be set to a
sensible outout level to cover its intended area. It also tends to
require smaller gauge wire than 8 ohm working.

It can be found ( for example ) in lo-fi railway station announcement
sytems.

So what do you *really* want to knw ?

Have you considered buying a book on audio instead of posting assinine
questions here ?

Why are you such an asshole. I am quite familiar with the low
impedence systems using groups of speakers in series and
parallel arrangements and have wired several homes for sound using
this method. I am not at all familiar with the high impedance systems
--as I stated in the posting --- and was simply asking for a source of
good information.
