SPDIF input
Any way to get spdif/aes input without buying an expensive soundcard? ie
one costing more than $15. -- Dirk http://www.transcendence.me.uk/ - Transcendence UK http://www.theconsensus.org/ - A UK political party http://www.blogtalkradio.com/onetribe - Occult Talk Show |

If you're willing to spend $100, you could get a Cakewalk (formerly Edirol) UA-1G USB interface that has stereo anaog and S/PDIF I/O. Or buy something used and old, but you might need a computer running Win98 in order for its drivers to work. It's tough to buy less for less than what everyone else wants. -- "Today's production equipment is IT based and cannot be operated without a passing knowledge of computing, although it seems that it can be operated without a passing knowledge of audio." - John Watkinson |

Only problems might be that I need 24/96, and continuity of supply. It looks like the kind of device that might suddenly disappear next week. So I guess if we go for it we'll have to buy a bunch of them. Still, a USB solution has its advantages - most notably lack of a big fat card sitting on a mini-itx board. -- Dirk http://www.transcendence.me.uk/ - Transcendence UK http://www.theconsensus.org/ - A UK political party http://www.blogtalkradio.com/onetribe - Occult Talk Show |
