I just received Bose noise cancelling headphones as a gift. I would
like to use them to study or read in noisy environments, but it is
necessary to play music to get them to work. Im looking for a cd of
constant continual noise, like crashing surf or white noise with no
melody or instruments, does anyone know of such a cd? Thanks

Yeah, they do exist. New age stores would have these and mark them up
as "aural therapy" or some such.

Or keep the headphones in the drawer and purchase a $5 set of foam ear
plugs from your grocer's drug aisle or at any drug store. The ambient
sound reduction will be superior to the active noise cancelling
headphones.
