Default this TT... OPINIONS?

Ordinarily, I'd not consider a direct drive TT, but here's one for
which I'd make an exception. But unless I'm overlooking something,
this one seems WAY overpriced, even w/ Black Widow arm, no? Anyone
here more familiar w/ these items, and have a better sense of what I
should expect to pay?

Since you were on that website, you should have been able to compare
more current TT's with this particular one. There are a host of other
alternatives in that price range that I would consider a better choice.
But then, that is my *opinion*.

A better place to ask this would be rec.audio.high-end or
rec.audio.opinion.

I did. Knowing from experience that broad philosophical questions get
zillions of responses, but specific ones like mine get very few, I
posted to several newsgroups. Predictably, I received 2 very helpful
answers, but also a handful of opinions which, despite being
well-founded, had nothing to do with my question.

I was, and did. As stated in my question, I was just curious about
that particular combo and what it should really cost. Had there been
anything remotely equivalent available, I'd have compared.

Nonetheless, your opinion is appreciated, and I'll probably take your
advice and stick w/ a better belt-driven product for a less $$$.

Here are a couple that are VASTLY superior to the Luxman and $100 less.

So is this one and it is less than 1/2 the price of the luxman

Thanks, Tony... I've seriously considered the HW19, and there's a good
chance I'll end up w/ it or something similar.
