It might be a good idea for her to scout for a second hand. Unless it's
a true vintage, they should come quite affordable and then she may
manage to get her hands on an American-built one instead of a lesser
quality Mexican or Japanese model. The American models have better
wood, better electronics and are allegedly hand-built. ;-)

On the other hand, the problem with the Stratocaster is that it's a real
workhorse guitar, and people generally don't part with it that
easily... :-/

Why is it that you Linux weirdos pretend that you are experts on every
topic?
Is there something about using Linux that causes the brain to act like
that?
Or is it just a by product of being part of the Linux cult?

It's no secret that Linux wierdos don't have to spend too much time
worrying where the next exploit is coming from nor what virus they are
going to be enswamped* with nor the being overly concerned with the
crappy software they are interacting with.

Ergo, they have time to think creatively and end up on the "know most of
it all" heap. Do yourself a favour and try Ubuntu. You'll probably never
go back.
