how to do it.
just bought 2 on ebay. i do live recording . i prefer a 2 mike
recording but sometimes i need more something [ usually piano or
vibes] and would love to be able to just plug in an xlr cable and fix
that without running wires through a club full of people.

Do you have an aptitude for metal fabrication and access to basic
tools? A standard XLR shell needs to be modified to be able to attatch
it to the casting.

yes but i think the guts from an xlr fit the casing o k. do you know
how to hook up the wires? on the 4 pin it's white green red and
yellow. the xlr has a 1 2 3 and one that connects to the casing. i
think that's ground so it would be green.

Even if it would fit what are you going to use for the shell latch?
The fourth wire is for HiZ. EV should still be able to tell you which
colors are hot, cold, and ground. I had them here but can't find them
