Default Denon 1804- No video output

I recently purchased a Denon 1804 Receiver and have nothing but praise to
give this wonderful piece of equipment on its audio performance. However; I
am having a bit of trouble running video through the receiver. Using only an
s-video cable I was succesful in bringing up the on screen display to set up
the receiver. But, now I cannot even get the receiver to bring up this
display. Also, when I try to run for example; an s-video out from a DVD
player through the Denon and then to my TV S-video input, I get no video
signal. The cables are fine and everything works when I run directly from
the component to the TV, If I try to run through the reciever, I receive no
video signal. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe an actual problem in the receiver. A bad IC chip, for example. It
happens.
