I installed a subwoofer amp, at the moment I am using the high level input
on the amp. That means I'm running wires from left and right speakers to the
amp input connector. So I have the rear speakers in parallel with the sub
amp inputs.
All works fine when the ignition is turned on, but when the motor is
started one of two things happens.
1) The volume goes way down on the sub woofer.
When #1 happens the rear speaker volume is also very low.
2) or the subwoofer starts a low frequency rumble.
Once the car is started I can disconnect the subwoofer input then plug it
back in and all works well again.
What do you think could be the problem?

You might want to take your question to a newsgroup
where they discuss auto sound systems. Like perhaps
news:rec.audio.car , etc.

If you have some way of monitoring the 12V power
at the sub amp (particularly while cranking), you might
want to include that information in your question.

I don't know what happened there, I hit send and then noticed the post in
my Outbox. So, I hit send and got a "cannot delete message" that didn't make
sense so
I closed it and hit send again, I got the same "cannot delete message". At
this point I copied the message and deleted it.
When I looked at the newsgroup, uhhh, I had three posts of the same thing,
I thought about posting an apology but that would have been four posts.
I had thought about monitoring the input, but we know it drops low during
cranking.
I will try the other group.
