Fifth of RAP CD sales?
Hey, Harvey (I could have asked you privately, but what the hell), how are
the sales of the FIFTH OF RAP CD going? I was wondering because, once again, here we are in August, which is usually the point where thoughts about another compilation pop up, and it appears to me if you didn't sell enough then we need to start banging on the group again to get those checks into you. I've been promoting it here everytime I can point someone to an example, which is what it's for, so I'm hoping that you've gotten at least a minimal but continuing response. And I can tell the rest of you guys that if we have to wait to do this every other year, then I'm not likely going to be doing the next set of transfers and track organization (well, that which doesn't get changed by Harvey! g). Not a threat, but if people are just going to sit an support it being done but not support the efforts by purchasing it, then it's just not worth doing it again, even with the absolutely tremendous music presented. So let's see a show of hands from the class. Who's bought the CD set and why isn't there any conversation about it? Seems like another one went by without as much attention to it as to Arnold throwing his hat in the ring. You guys who haven't purchased don't know what you're missing. Good stuff here, as it has been time and time again. So here's an idea to you guys that have purchased the set/s before, let's all include the URL of www.recaudiopro.net in a signature with some reference to the CD's availability. Give some of the newbies an extremely good set of examples of techniques by continuing to support EVEN MORE RAP CDs. Those of you who have bought a set, consider buying one for a friend who enjoys good music. These CDs are even good for just sitting around and listening to. -- Roger W. Fifth of RAP CD sales?
This may sound stupid, but the main reason I havent listened is becuase the credits are printed n the CDs themselves. I guess i could listen to them as 5 albums, but I don't really have them time. I'm most itnerested in connecting music to people/posters/names and I can't follow the credits when the CD is in the player. I was very excited wehn I first got them and did check out a few tracks based on who's work I wanted to check out, but I haven't had the time to transcribe the credits and sit back and listen the way I'd like to. That same info on the CD's is also on a website. If you have a web browser and printer, it's very easy. Go to: http://www.recaudiopro.net Click on RAP CDs Click on set five At the top, click on a disc number, 1 thru 5. You will see all the submitters' names and track names for that disc. You can print that out, and furthermore, click on a submitter's name or the track name to display the notes the submitter wrote for that track. So you've just run out of excuses... By my count, there are only nine tracks that don't (yet) have "liner notes" out of over 100 tracks, so the RAP 5 set has over 90 recordings with descriptions of how they were recorded. Clicking on order shows the price at $20 (walk into Wal-Mart or Wherehouse and see if you can find 90 songs, with or without recording notes, for $20), but I'm sure Harvey still has his "special" deal going, with or without "set four," Scott's 10th Anniversary RAP LP (it even has leadout notes!). What's that special again, Harvey? |

Every lurker on this group should grab a set, y'know an hour of listening with the ability to find out how it was done is worth more than DAYS of reading posts. I can't begin to tell you how much I've learned from the CD's / liner notes. Oh, and if the liner notes don't tell you exactly what you want to know, you can just email the author. I've done this on a couple of cuts, (thanks guys). Oh yeah, and they're cool listening in the car too... And I haven't even heard all of the discs yet. Just buy yourself a set. You'll be glad you did. Take it easy. -Paul |

OK, OK, I just ordered my set based on the strength of your post. I'm a
home recordist in New Zealand in the middle of building a modest home studio. I've been doing recording to hard disk for about 10 years, but have never had a good "space" to record or mix. All that is changing now, and I'm ready to get serious about pushing myself further. I'm a newbie to this group and have been watching from the side lines for about six months. I promise to discus the RAP set once I've had some time to review it. Thanks for the "push" ;o) Bill Ruys. "Roger W. Norman" wrote in message ... Right, we're out of those. The vinyl is set 4? Yup. The set 5 is more CDs? 5 full length CDs in set 5. Is there a way I can send a money order or something, in $US I guess, for 4 and 5? (I have rap3times) Please post the answer, no Email as I am being trolled! Just go to: http://www.recaudiopro.net - all the order info is there.
