Default FS: High end phono stage/preamp

For sale: Hagerman 'Bugle' Phono preamplifier.

This one will only be of ineterst to the do-it-yourself crowd...

The Bugle phono stage was very highly praised by Stereophile's
Mike Fremmer ("Ridiculously good for the money", he said) and
awarded class D in the Stereophile Apr. 2004 issue.

This particular Bugle was professionally constructed using the
best audiophile grade components, on Hagerman's 4 layer
printed circuit board (that, for some reason, they call 'half-kit').
Resistors are 1% metal film. Capacitors are 2% polypropelene.
ICs are premium FET input audiophile grade parts.

I installed it inside a ReVox B791 turntable and powered it from
the turntable power supply. Driven by a Shure V-15VMR, it
sounded nothing short of superb. Shortly thereafter, the
turntable died. As a result, the phono stage had seen very
little use; probably, on the order of 10 to 20 hours. In other
words, it's practically new.

What you will receive is the assembled Bugle PCB, along with
the manual. If you wish to battery power it, you will need to
install two battery boxes. Otherwise, provide a +/- 9V to 15V
power supply. There is provision for a power switch on the
board (currently hardwired ON). Also, unless you prefer
to hardwire the input and output cables, you'll want to install
RCA receptacles. All these parts are readily available and quite
low in cost. Also, unless you mount it inside a turntable, your
will need a suitable case.

If you wish to see a photo, just ask for it.

For further details see:
http://www.hagtech.com/bugle.html , from where the
manual for the Bugle and Hagerman's power supply
may be downloaded.

$95 plus shipping of 1 lb from 01702. (Hagerman
charges $169 plus shipping).
