Default Sound deadening stage II report

I have ordered a bunch of stuff from RAAMaudio and Second Skin Audio a
while ago
but so far got to treat one front door only. Since I don't know when I
get to the second one
I'll post a short summary:

I have the doors previously treated with B-quiet ultimate. I pretty
much covered all the metal parts
with the b-quiet and for some stupid reason (I was experimenting you
see) used
some synthetic fiber and epoxy on the plastic panel.
Well, thankfully the fiber mat came off pretty easily. Expoxy did not
make a strong bond to the plastic.
So I treated the inside of the plastic door skin with Damplifier and
dumped the rest of the Damplifier
(I got 10 sq ft to try it out) on the outside door skin over the
existing layer of b-quiet ultimate.
Then I applied some more of RAAMmat over it. On top of that I've
installed about 3 1sq ft pieces of
Overkill using V&S 1081 from RAAMaudio.com I also have Ensolite mat
from RAAMaudio
but haven't gotten around installing it).

I think I got quite a bit of improvement after all the trouble. I was
testing the install
by playing some rattle inducing compositions with bass cranked all the
way up
and treble all the way down. To my dismay I found that the side mirror
for the Protege
rattles quite a bit. It's light and it's sealed, I don't think I can
pull it apart
and apply sound deadener to the casing and the back of the mirror
itself.
It's a bummer. So I applied tiny little pieces of Damplifier to the
crevices on the side that
is in contact with a rubber washer that sits between the mirror and the
door.
Damplifier is very pleasant to work with. It separates where you cut
it.

But it's expensive. I would recommend to apply Damplifier in the
critical parts where you can't
apply many layers, such as the plastic door skins and use a ton of
RAAMmat everywhere else.

So stage II is worthwhile if you like me got something questionable
like b-quiet or dynamat
before you knew better but stage III probably is not. At this point I
probably finally need
to get rid of the stock speakers, wife permitting, and cutting the very
low frequencies from
the door with the crossovers. Which is where I'm having a problem. A
decent set of component
speakers runs about $250-550 and 6x8s I got a chance to sample sound
crappy on
the stuff I'm listening to. So the snail paced quest for better
speakers still goes on.

I should add that Rick has added an automated ordering systems to
raamaudio.com
(it's very sleek, the shipping rates are very reasonable) and Anthony
have finished
with the Second Skin warehouse revamp. Just in case any of you are
anxious to install
more deadener.

I also treated the rear deck with RAAMmat and I think I can hear some
improvement
(more details in the music can be heard I think). But I haven't treated
the floor.
That is a scary project/

I should probably do the side surfaces in the trunk first though. I
don't have a subwoofer yet,
just some reasonably good 6x9 woofers. Is it worth it ripping off an
reinstalling the trunk
liners?
