Default A Question on speaker stands for satellite speakers

Since putting my small cube satellite speakers on tall stands I found
that the sound has become thinner. Before I had the speakers sitting
on furniture.
I am trying out the speaker stands and can return them if they are not
suitable.
I wanted all the font 3 speakers the same height for surround sound
movies. The center speaker sits on the top of the TV.
Would heavier speaker stands make a difference to the sound?

Regards Brian

Hard to believe, isn't it.
I mean, that they could sound thinner than they already did.

No.

What's happened is that in moving them, you've no longer got a bass
re-inforcement effect that you previously had by pure chance.

Small speakers *will* sound thin on stands.

Particularly if they are incapable of significant output in the 200- 80
Hz range.which is where most small speakers fail.
