Spoiled rotten
Editing a concert on the computer, I got lazy and was going to do all the
editing in 16 bit. I couldn't do it. I was hearing all the little things that fail when you start manipulating 16 bits (instead of 24) and I had to revert, convert to 24 bit (actually 32-bit floating point) and do my editing. Specifically: (1) Fades *from* silence are more audible at the start of a song. (2) Reverb needs the extra bits to decay cleanly. Yeah, it takes longer, but it's worth it. |
