Default Alternate Stereo Mixing

While we listen to the amateurs talk about hearing aids, I'd thought I'd share something ON TOPIC. This is an alternate stereo mix of one of The Allman Brothers fine US Top 40 hits, Midnight Rider. Decades ago, dad and I watched them perform on TV. He thought they were talented, even being raised on Big Band music. I liked what I heard, since they nicely replicated what they did in the studio! This includes a count-off and longer ending. It's really nice to hear different mixing, especially, if you appreciate sound quality!....

That mp3'd tape hiss (presumably) all the way through is rather annoying.

Gareth.

Just listened to it again for some strange reason, and I don't think there
is anything below 100Hz in there.

Is that how things were done back then?

Maybe you should take that hook out of your gill, and stop encouraging
the Nazi dog turd who has no idea what anything sounds like.

LOL. Good point. Sorry about any tape noise, it's not stereo MY mix.
Actually, the multi-tracks I have of Allman Brothers are recreated.

Let's take a listen to The Looking Glass (NJ) and their Big Hit, "Brandy (You're A Fine Girl)". I was in a Silo Department Store when I heard this song on a fine stereo, when man created Big Speakers, not silly, cheap, dinky sub woofers. I was standing right by one speaker during the bridge of this song, the horn and saxophone work came through loud and clear! Later, I went searching for what I heard/experienced. The stereo single didn't cut the mustard. Bob Irwin, while working for Sony, issued a (CD) version with "bongos", but it was so subtle a difference, it wasn't even worth mentioning/publishing! It was the ALBUM version mix I was after. It is easily spotted by those who actually listen to music, since their is greater stereo separation, and the horn work is isolated to the Right Stereo Channel. A participant at Both Sides Now (Stereo Chat Forum bu Mike Callahan) thought I did a pretty decent job, when it was just the stereo mix that made it sound better! It is longer than the single, hit version, but fades a tad sooner!...
