Power Antenna ---> 12 volt ???
I'm wondering what the power antenna is for. My car needs no power antenna. A car tech book said that power antenna produces 12Volt when the radio is turn on. When the radio is off, voltage down to 0. is this true??? |

The power antenna lead from your stereo will provide +12V when the stereo is on. (Or maybe just when the radio is playing - different brands work differently). You can use the power antenna lead to turn on an amplifier if your stereo doesn't have a separate amp turn-on lead. The power antenna lead can NOT provide enough current to actually power an amplifier - you'll need to run separate power and ground leads to the amplifier for that. Scott i did what you told me. It works finally. The sound gets more powerful than the last installation of one 12V connected to both turn-on and the main 12V lead. |
