Need high-quality audio for ***RECENT*** Dell Dimension XPS (Gen 3)
I bought a DAL CardDeluxe for it but there's some kind of hardware
mismatch (according to DAL -- and they are working on a "hardware solution"), so I have to return it. Has anyone out there bought the above-named computer recently and used any comparable PCI or USB unit with it? Thanks. |

I got burned by them a couple of times when they were still Midiman, but most people seem pretty happy with them nowadays. jb |

It's a 200 MHz Pentium with 32 MB of RAM (original SD-RAM, none of this fancy PC100 or DDR stuff), a 3 GB hard drive, a 16X CD-ROM reader (not burner), a 4MB Matrox Millenium II video card (with no 3D support), an ISA modem that had to be upgraded to 56k, and an ISA SoundBlaster AWE32 card. Somehow I think the computer in question is pretty different from my old XPS (which is an XPS M200s). But they are both Dell Dimemsions XPSes. - Logan |

Hey, it doesn´t matter what Dell sells you as a "XPS" it imatters,
what´s inside YOUR XPS case... ;-) Get yourself the following piece of free software and let it gather some of the relevant information on your XPS´s parts (what kind of CPU, speed of CPU, how much RAM, mainboard chipset, ...): Everest HOME will do everything you need (even more actually)- it even doesn´t nevessarily have to be installed! It also works if only unzipped and executed... http://www.lavalys.com/products/over...ng=en&pageid=1 Make sure, you get an idea of what your XPS actually consists of and then come back with that information. Good luck, Phil |
