Original APT Holman Pre Amplifier
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=3085048 031
Original APT Pre Amplifier. Ted Holman built for APT Corp. in Cambridge, Mass. about 1984. S/N is A5981 AWESOME.... Holman was keenly aware of the problems associated with designing and measuring phono sections using simple load resistors. The fact is that many designs which measured well with test loads simply did not perform well with real cartridges (unfortunately this is still too often the case even today). The design goal was to design a phono pre that would be completely isolated from the effects of cartridge loading, thus maintaining perfectly flat response, low distortion, and very low noise with any cartridge. The results of his research not only led to what is still arguably one of the finest phono pre's ever integrated into a pre amp, but also was embraced by many of the forward thinking equipment designers of the time. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=3085048 031 |
