Default Need high-quality audio for ***RECENT*** Dell Dimension XPS (Gen 3)

I bought a DAL CardDeluxe for it but there's some kind of hardware
mismatch (according to DAL -- and they are working on a "hardware
solution"), so I have to return it. Has anyone out there bought the
above-named computer recently and used any comparable PCI or USB unit
with it? Thanks.

I'm running a Dimension 4600 with a Delta 66 and SBLive and no problems.

Not me, but M-audio is reputed to have excellent driver support and good
sound.

I got burned by them a couple of times when they were still Midiman, but
most people seem pretty happy with them nowadays.

Hey, it doesn´t matter what Dell sells you as a "XPS" it imatters,
what´s inside YOUR XPS case... ;-)

Get yourself the following piece of free software and let it gather
some of the relevant information on your XPS´s parts (what kind of
CPU, speed of CPU, how much RAM, mainboard chipset, ...): Everest
HOME will do everything you need (even more actually)- it even doesn´t
nevessarily have to be installed! It also works if only unzipped and
executed...

Make sure, you get an idea of what your XPS actually consists of and
then come back with that information.

Good luck,

Phil
