I have windows XP, Cound Blaster Live Platinum 5.1 and Logic Audio

After having recorded a track (whether a voice- .wav, or a midi file)
if for example I cut it and want to move what's left so that the track
beginc on the first beat, my mouse freezes and it bogs my whole
computer - I have to restart the whole system.

Anyone can help?
