Default Am I hearing doubled vocal in this live performance?

Live performance by America's Got Talent winner Bianca Ryan. Be
forewarned, the video portion is afflicted by severe YouTube palsy.

Am I hearing what I think I'm hearing? Sounds like her vocal is being
doubled by the track. At first I thought it might just be some odd
reflection thing but there's a distinct but inconsistent pitch
dissonance in spots which I don't think would happen if that were just
a reflection. I almost wondered if there was someone sitting in the
vicinity of the camera singing along but it matches Bianca's singing
too closely.

If that's the case I have to wonder why. If there was ever a singer
who doesn't need help it's Bianca who's known for her precocious
cannon of a voice. And it just seems to get in the way of a good
performance.

I also note that this ghost-vocal seems to come and go. I really
notice it in some spots and don't hear it at all in others.

Thoughts? Is this a common practice?

It sounds to me like they're using backing tracks with her vocals still on
it. Dumb.

Yes, someone didn't turn her voice down...
Or her voice was so loud on stage that she didn't realize the song was the
vocals version.

In my experience, some singers need their own volume so loud in the
monitor that the track is almost obscured.

Look at her quick little hand gesture at 7 seconds in. She's looking
off stage and quickly points down at the monitor, then points up. I'd
interpret this as her saying "turn me up in the stage monitor"

But back to the OP's point, she seems to be using a version of her own
track with vocals on it. You can hear an intermittent chorus effect
when her pitch (or vibrato) differs slightly from that on the track
Having said that, she slides up to some big exposed notes at the end of
the verse. This is where I'd also expect to hear a chorus effect. She
has either nailed the part exactly as it is on the track (which is
pretty difficult), or she is leaving out those notes from her live
performance.
