Default Help - need sub - small space

lurk mode off
to all

I have a 2003 chevy silverado standard cab and am seeking advice on an
amp and subwoofer setup that will give me some decent bass and still fit
behind the seat. I run a Kenwood EZ500 with a sirius tuner. Using the
stock speakers the mids and highs are pretty good but the bass is just
OK. I would like some added bass punch. I listen mostly to current
rock, heavy metal and 80's hair band stuff.

Do you think I can get the extra punch I need by going to component
speakers in the doors versus adding a sub to the stock speakers? That
would probably cost roughly the same as a small sub with amp.

It's pretty tight behind the seat. The Infinity BASSLINK T looks
interesting but it seems pretty pricey.

TIA for any and all feedback
