Default Should I keep my Infinity amp ?

I own Jeep GC Ltd 1998 with Infinity sound system.

I am quite happy with sound quality but want MP3 playback.

It seems like Panasonic CQ-C3300U fits my needs (any opinions on this
unit ?).

I am wondering if I should keep my Infinity amp and not use internal
amp of the unit b/c I think Infinity is better then what is found in
C3300U

Am I correct in this assumption ?

Is Infinity amp that black box found under the rear passenger seat ?

If I keep my Infinity amp I would need to connect the wires that are
connected to the factory unit to the CQ-C3300U preamp outputs, right ?

I am also planning to get PAC SWI-X Steering Wheel Radio Control
Interface and have a couple questions about it.

Where do you put that IR LED thingy ? Should it be in the front of
unit ? That is should I pull this wire, for instance, to the CD
storage area (between the front seats) under the carpet ? Seems like
too much of a hassle for me :-D Can I just put it inside the unit
somehow ? Or maybe behind it, so that I don't have to mess with the
wires and nothing sticks out ? It will still be close enough to the
receiver I think.

And where do you usually hide the interface box for it ? As you can
see I never installed car audio before.

Also, if there is a web forum discussing these issues - please
recommend it.
