Generally speaking an OTL is a solution to a problem (need for an OPT) which
creates a worst one (a terribly complicated circuit). Stick to good iron, it
is VERY easy to wind a 5k/300R tranny.
By the way You can make Your headphone amp with one single valve, a 6S45
CCCP triode or a more costy US WE417or even a burst-your-budget TFK 8020.
Even a real newbie can make such a unit and it is so simple it cannot be
bad. Most of all, fiddling a bit with schematics and soldering iron teaches
a lot about how to tell apart value from snake oil.
If You really don't want to burn Your fingers, You could ask some of the
gents in this NG to make this little one for You. From Your nickname -
Asterix - I guess You should be French, maybe Mr. Le Gal can give You a tip
about somebody on the cold side of the Alps who can do it with care and for
a sensible quantity of French Euros (Italian ones shall be worth something
less, considering how awful prices are here..).

Ciao

Fabio

OTOH, an OTL headphone amp can be made real easy with say a ECC88 in a
SEPP configuration.
I've seen 6AS7 schematics as well. Probably as simple as a transformer
coupled amp.

Sounds pretty good .....
