Default Carver amp question

I've had a Carver 2090i amp sitting on the shelf for a few
years after using it in a prior install. It performed very
well for me, so I'm putting it into a new install. I no longer
have the manual for it and can't find anything on the web
about the amp. I want to bridge it to drive a single driver
subwoofer, but there is no switch marked "BRIDGE". The
closest thing is a swtich marked MONO. And the four speaker
terminals have the positive from one channel circled and the
negative from the other channel circled. I would assume that
these are the terminals that will be driven when bridged.

Anyone familiar with Carver amps and if my above assumptions
are correct?

I'd say your assessment is correct for this amp--that's a pretty
typical scheme for bridging two channels.

In the event paranoia overtakes you, you could always contact Carver
directly.

Thanks, Dan. Since Carver is somewhat defunct now, I'm not
sure where to direct a question like this. Do I send and email
to Sunfire.com? CarverPro.com? CarverUSA.com? Something else?

thanks,

Dude, this is why Google exists. Search for "carver amp"--it's the
first hit on the page. Here...I'll make it realllllly easy:

Trust me, I've googled Carver every which way to Sunday.

Did you actually *look* at that site. Here's some fine print
from their support page:

"We realize that you may own Carver consumer products manufactured
or sold by Carver Corporation, and are having trouble finding
support and service for those products. We would like to be able
to help you, however, we do not have parts or documentation for
the consumer electronic products sold under the "Carver" brand.
If you go to their website www.carveraudio.com they will tell
you where you can obtain authorized service and warranty repair
for Carver Consumer products. Their telephone number is
(425) 335-4748, Ext 222."

So this is obviously not where I'd find help for this amp. And
if you go to the suggested site "www.carveraudio.com" you'll find
this: "Disclaimer: This website is NOT run, maintained, or
owned by Carver Corp. Sunfire Corp. or any other Bob Carver
affiliated company." They repair amps and have a forum (that
I have posted to) and they *sell* amp manuals for $10 apiece.

Then if you go to CarverUSA.com, you get a nice shiny "Under
Construction" image.

No sign of an email address where I might send such an inquiry.
Thanks for the charming replay anyway, Dan.

Default Carver amp question

When I worked at Phoenix Gold about 7 years ago, we owned a division of
Carver (my office was right next to theirs). I'll bet a bunch of those guys
are still around and that might be a good place to start for obscure tech
support on older Carver gear.

Try Phoenix Gold in Portland, OR.

Thanks, but I didn't want to spend $10 for a manual. Most
companies provide downloadable manuals for their products,
but since this is an old Carver car amp, there doesn't seem
to be a free source for this information anywhere.
