No.

But double blind, bias controlled.

Will someone call the ambulance before there's any more of this?

Weird, Ludovic. My hand was poised over the keyboard ready to type,

There's a sound system they're trying to get as good as possible, so
naturally they choose one of the best tools for detecting difference. No
wonder it bothers you, it's further evidence of the acceptance of ABX for
audio.

Will someone call the ambulance before there's any more of this?

Whottsa matta, you gonna plotz from all the facts?

Amazing how the fact that audio ABX being widely accepted and commonly used
by people who create audio systems makes some people so tense.

As I've said before, it's very easy to find stuff about people who use audio
ABX and how it's acceptance is a given. The only negative things one finds
about audio ABX are from people who have no evidence demonstrating it is
faulty or hides differences as some keep trying to suggest.

Why, which one is being powered by tubes?

The one that doesn't have all that nasty edge and
provides a deeper and more realisitic sound stage.

But it cost 100 times more for 1/10 the output.

Filet mignon costs a lot more per pound than dog food.

But unlike most audio components, Filet mignon is actually different than
ordinary dog food.

icHe is not terminally stupid. He knows when to run from the crumbling
ABX fortress into a noncontroversial DBT stance. Poor Arny- he can't
count on anyone.

Demostrating that there is more than one way to achieve the same sound

I have listened to numbers of ss cd players that sounded quite different
from each other. obvious differences, nothing really subtle.

What brands and models? Since the measurements of every CD player I've ever
seen, shows that ANY differnces would have to be subtle to non-existent, I
am convinced that what you heard was the result of bad evaluation
techniques. It is possible to hear things that aren't there.

but this is the list of players. and there were others.

Theta Pro Generation DAC (4 different units)
2 Luxman's, similar, but different model no's
JVC massmarket player (Don't remember the no's)
2 different model number mid 80's NAD
Rotel 600 something, the one STerophile liked, I thought it sucked.
Jolida (using the the ss output stage)
Magnavox (1560, or 1650, the good one of the 2) 3 different units
Meridian (can't remember the no)
SONY (top of the line EX)
