Default NOTICE: Boston Audio Society Meeting

BOSTON AUDIO SOCIETY

January 2004, Meeting

Date: Sunday, January 25
Time: 6:00 PM

Place: Room 120
Volpe Center (Formerly National Transportation Systems Center)
55 Broadway, Cambridge, MA

Featured Guests: Alvin Foster, Phyliss Eliasberg, Walter Swanbon, Stephen
Hamm, Steve Rochlin, and all BAS Members in Attendance at CES

Meeting Topic: CES Reports

The January meeting of the BAS will feature the annual "CES Report" by BAS
members in attendance at the 2004 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
They will report on what they saw and the best sound and video at the show.
Alvin will report on the Samsung 1080P DLP projector, the 57 inch LCD, and
Klein-Hummel's computer based system for eliminating peaks and dips in bass
response in a room. DQEX has a computer based EQ system that equalizes your
speakers and
room automatically. Also hard disk recorders for audio. The latest in
digital radio receivers for AM and FM broadcast band reception will be
reviewed. There will be plenty to discuss, lots of pictures, brochures and
samples to pass around. Also the usual freebie table. The CES Report is
one of our most popular meetings of the year.

*Due to new security procedures at the National Transportation System
Center, a federal
building, your name must be on the BAS list to enter this and future
meetings. The list is
always submitted 2 weeks in advance to the building administrators. The
names of all current
and past BAS members have already been submitted; there is no need to
contact the BAS. However,
if you plan to bring a guest let John Pollard know in advance. ALL guest are
welcome and
encouraged to attend, no charge: John Pollard, (617) 494-3537 or
