Here it is! Part II, Europas catching fire?
"trotsky" wrote in message ... [snip] After a couple minutes of serious bump and grind, mother**** if I didn't start smelling melted cheese! At first, I thought the combo of my wild love making and an ugly yeast infection was producing the smell, but then I noticed smoke coming from the listening room/broom closet! I ran to see what was happening, immediately saw the commercial ramifications, and thus was born the Europa Combination Speaker/BBQ Grill! These are now available on most internet auction boards, just check the discount/fire sale/seconds section. [snip] Apparently, this alludes to what I've heard about Europas catching fire? Does anyone have any info on what kind of amplifiers/musical material were used when the speakers caught fire? This is important because my brother-in-law is considering buying Europas. God Bless, and thanks for your help. |

It doesn't look like he needs much encouragement. Matter of fact, it is pretty interesting to watch the dynamic of Jupiter Audio's presentation here at RAO. If you look at the first few dozen posts in the original "Here It Is" thread, the vast majority were encouraging and even respectful of gerg's effort. If gerg had somehow undergone a personality transplant, he probably could have gathered good suggestions on how to market and improve his product, and educated a large and vocal group of people interested in audio about the benefits of his products. Is it any mystery that gerg's monster ego quickly turned this into a typical RAO trotsky-bashing? (When you see me on RAO, it can only mean that gerg is in meltdown, and I have opportunity get in a few cheap shots). George, would you care to speculate on what possible outcomes ****sky had in mind when he posted up a link to his website? Could he possibly be so deluded that he thought he would gain some modicum of respect from the group, and you would all be out schilling Jupiters to your friends and family? I don't say this lightly, but anyone *in their right mind* who was counting on income from a startup company would have handled this situation much differently, bitten their tongue, and displayed a little grace when less-than-perfect comments about their speakers were posted. Gerg's overly hostile responses were bound to turn this into yet another open trotsky season. The sad fact is that he has abandoned all hope of a positive outcome by turning this into a review of his ego, instead of a review of his products. Bingo. Bingo squared. Good stuff. Well, as ye sow, so shall ye reap. Right, Greg? Either Greg never learned this, or he has a big fat streak of self-destructiveness. I can't think of any other explanation for his antics. |

A very succinct summary. It's the personality, not the speakers, which draws the fire. There was actually a lot of constructive criticism, which he failed to heed. I don't think that anyone shuts the door on a reincarnation of Jupiter Audio based on sound principles of design, as opposed to Trotsky's famous "luck." |

No, I don't. I am not responsible for the sockpuppet post of the "story." I did work off it with my reply, in my own name. It should be obvious that my post is wicked satire, while McCarty's posts are claims of fact. Another thing I will now do, which McCarty would never do, shall be my statement below: I am not aware of any instances in which Jupiter Audio (Greg Singh's) speakers have caught fire. On the other hand, he's never sold a pair, so who's to say what the future will bring? |

Dogging me with your Brian McCarty like tactics--amazing. I suppose you're already getting your just desserts because you're such a bad writer; misery loves company. Everybody on the newsgroup should get their chance to behave like trash, and nobody missed a turn. In one way you're correct: this *is* about ego. I don't know why I feel compelled to prove that I'm better than everybody else, but I certainly am here. Now, would you care to tell the group why you are so afraid that you have to remain an anonymous piece of trash? We've been over this before, gerg. You had your chance, and you pussed out. Live with it, loser. I guess I didn't understand your last post: what do you then deserve as an anonymouse? Be as specific as possible, please. |

Your "input" has been trash from day one, Joe. At least you had one moment of clarity when you admitted you were a troll. And you call that a competent test of the flammability of your speakers? For Christ's sake, why don't you pony up and bring a set over to Underwriter's Lab? Is it "straw man" or "straw mouse" in your case? Are you saying the dumb ****ing *******s that I mentioned look for UL listings to buy speakers? |

I don't think we need to hear juvenile adults spouting at each other,
intelligent or not. Opinion newsgroup is fine, leave it off marketplace now. Brian M. is starting to look good compared to you guys ! Thanks, Todd. |

I'm one-dimensional, as far as RAO is concerned and haven't paid much attention to that particular RAO trainwreck. It just seems our paths are pionting in the same direction for a while. Do you still enjoy apologizing for Arnii Krooger? I've come to the conclusion that everyone on RAO gets what they deserve. And most of them are asking for it. However, I will add that Arny has politely answered the one or two questions I have asked that had anything to do with audio. You answered one yourself. |
