Default Blaupunkt MPD-01 Minidisk MP3 Player

Installed a Blaupunkt MPD-01 minidisk based mp3 player along with a
Blaupunkt San Franciso CD72 in a Mitsubishi Evo. When the MPD-01 player
undergoes vibration (say even from tapping with a finger) the minidisk
does a reseek. If the vibration is sufficiently long, reseeking occurs
multiple times and the player's memory is insufficient to prevent
skipping (gaps in the audio playback).

My question is what is your experience with the MDP-01 MP3 minidisk
player? Does it work in your car without skipping?

Blaupunkt says that this isn't normal, but I'm on the second unit and it
has an identical skipping problem. Both were received from the
distributor as new but it is obvious that from multiple Blaupunkt seals,
the units have been back to Blaupunkt anywhere from two to six times.
This says to me that either the MPD-01 has generic problems or there are
problem units recirculating in the US market.
