I subscribed to Audio Editor Pro for many reasons and different uses.
One being "changing the play speed". However, I cannot figure out how
to do it, and I emailed the support team, but haven't heard back and
it's been 3 weeks. I need to change a song that is approx. 140 bpm to
135 bpm. Can anyone help me!! Thanks!

What hardware/software are you working with? There are a number of
ways to do this, but it depends on what you are using...
Obviously, the best, cleanest option is to retrack it... Any processing
you do to expand time (i am guessing you want to maintain the current
pitch) is going to be a lossy process in terms of quality.

I am working on a laptop with Windows XP. I just downloaded the
software to edit/cut music. I don't know much about this kind of
stuff...though I find the program very user friendly. Unfortunately, I
wouldn't even know how to "retrack" it, but find it disappointing that
the quality would be worse. Is that just this program...or just what
happens when you speed up music?

I believe they meant to go back to the source and
record it over again from scratch. Of course, if you
are using an existing recording from someone or
somewhere else, this is not likely to be a practical
suggestion.

Dosen't matter what software you are using. Changing
significant things like pitch or length is radical surgery
and virtually always produces undesirable side-effects,
sometimes not so bad, sometimes horrible.
