Default Question 24 bit recording to Logic

Hello.
I did try to find an answer on Google but wasn't successful.

I am using a Roland reverb that is supposedly 24bit for A/D conversion.
I am sending this output via coax to a Sony DAT (PCM-R300).
I am also sending that signal digitally out of the DAT via optic cable onto a
Mac G5 to Logic Pro (ported while recording at times, at other times as
recorded on the DAT tape) .
My question: is that 24bit audio that Logic is getting?, or is it changed to
16bit since it's travelling through a DAT deck in-between.

I apologize if this question is incredibly elementary, but thank you for a
response.

I think you're sending 16 bit audio to the Mac. DAT's in general are 16
bit.
