I wouldn't worry too much about the 88 F. if that is the airtemp by the
speaker. What I would be concerned about is the radiant heat emitted by
the wood stove. What's the surface temp of the speaker to the touch? If
warmer than the surfaces not directly exposed to the stove, you run the
risk of speeding damage to the finish or speaker cone/surrounds, etc.

Default 88 degree temperature around bookshelf speakers

Sprocket:
What is the problem with 88 deg F...... or even 98 ??? Heck, when I lived
in Arizona, the temp in the house got up to almost 100 on real hot days when
I wasn't home and didn't have the swamp evaporator cooler tuned on. When I
worked for a truck freight company that did contract work for the US Postal
Service and others....... many of our truck trailers would easily get up to
and over 100 deg F.... on hot summer days going through the desert areas of
Calif, Nevada, Utah, Ariz, New Mexico, Texas, etc. I even remember seeing
freight boxes in the trailers with the Infinity Primus logos printed on the
box.

the speaker wasn't right up next to the stove... it was probably about
5 feet away or so... I put a thermometer leaned up against the speaker
on the side facing the stove. anyway, I'm thinking the speaker's
okay.

While 88 degrees is even "cool" for some places on the surface of
this planet, an issue might be the DIFFERENTIAL from having the
side facing the stove that warm vs. the temp of the opposite side.
But even then the most likely to suffer may be the finish of the box,
and not anything functional.
