Is this code, or do you have cedar trees that are allergic to floods?

It is code: cedar is another name for mountain juniper. Heat, floods,
allergens, we get them all.

Ah, paradise. How's your swine flu count?

BaBoon sniffed:

I don't pay alimony. Never have.

Hard to squeeze financial blood from a welfare turnip. So, the old girl was the
breadwinner in the family before she finally wised up and booted you off the
gravy train. Little wonder you're a bitter old geezer "havin' to be scroungin'
your next meal. How does it feel?"

(Yep, this yuppy is almost as cool as Frasier Smith or Dr. Johnny Fever.)

By the way, that dress was purchased as a movie prop. Oops...there it is
again, people other than you having interesting lives and getting things done.

Yeah, that's a major accomplishment buying a dress on eBay. Probably the
highlight of your entire professional career.

Again, why aren't you showing any of these posts to your friends, family and
co-workers in the real world?

Your "friends, family and co-workers", knowing of your mental derangement, are
only too glad to humor you and agree with you while secretly thinking "Oh
Christ, I hope he doesn't snap and run amok with me standing right here!" and
try to soothe you with reassuring words along the lines of "Yes, Marc, I
completely agree with you. You're always right on such things..." as they try to
make an inconspicuous departure.

I think we had forty-five inches of rain last Tuesday.

Did I mention the torrential floods?

I'll buy a surfboard.

31 100-degree days so far this
summer?

Prior to living up here, I spent 8 years in the San Fernando Valley.

Cedar allergies?

There's a cedar tree in my backyard. I'm still alive.

Other than that, heaven on earth.

That's what I suspected.

Forget that. I'm more worried about the killer bees. And Chupacabra,
too.

That sounds suspiciously like the Voice of Experience. It certainly
isn't the Voice of Coherence, because I couldn't make out half of what
you just said. Must be the caffeine addiction.

Frasier Smith is a famous wood carver. Do you mean Frazer Smith,
idiot?

Umm...I didn't buy it. You want to go back and re-read your notes
again?

Wow, that sounded like I really hit a nerve. Let me explain it to you
on more simple terms. On RAO, I have at least a dozen people with whom
I can hold a civil conversation. We trade jokes and quips on a regular
basis. You can go into the archives and see those conversations. It's
out there in the open.

You, however, have no such relationships on RAO. No one tells you
you're smart or funny or clever. No one encourages you to hang around.
Most of the people here have killfiled you or just ignore you.

So when you try a pathetic, desperate IKYABWAI like that one on RAO,
no one here believes it. Not even you.

A couple of dozen. The schools were shut down for a few days.

You have a valley? With shepherds and vineyards on the hillsides?

Shepherds, yes. Remember that goatherd who was taken out by US military
playing border patrol?

The vineyards are on the plain. It's a big valley, with a big bend.

I googled it for my own edification. What's that snaky river called?

Como no, senor. The Colorado is the one that winds through the hills. Or so
says Wiki.

Waaaay over in the valley, where the Chupacabra and killer bees are.
Cannibal serial killers, too, on the other side of the river.

Austin has rivers but no mountains.
