Default Acoustic Center/voice coil location of Dynaudio D76?

I can not see any spec saying this clearly, so I will have
to say possibly via the cross-over, what I can see is that
the long "excess delay" is with the bass unit inverted,
with the midrange unit inverted the bass is 0.224 milliseconds
delayed compared to midrange and treble, and they still match
very well indeed.

I don't understand this. What do you mean by 'inverted' in this
context?

Inverted electrical polarity. The issue is that the bass unit chosen has
a risiing response above 400 Hz, so the cross-over between it and the
midrange was (also for that reason) not as good as could be and it was
eventually lowered.

OK, so we are lkeft with the question of whether time alignment
actually matters. Note that this was the 'next big thing' in the '80s,
but has mostly disappeared from the market.

Yes, what was instantly obvious was that attempting to time align bass
and midrange in that design had been a waste of chipboard from the time
alignment viwpoint per se, and that one might just as well have referred
that issue to CALSOD. As for whether the stepped baffle design has other
advantages would require building a pair of non-stepped boxes for direct
comparison for proof, but sonically and aestetically the construction
ended up being most pleasant to listen to.

Instantaneus movemenet is not possible within Newtons laws, so it is
indeed complete drivel from Mr. Allisons keyboard.

The force starts as the current flows. What would it wait for?

The coil assembly accelerates immediately.

There is no such thing as immediate accelleration in this space-time
continuum.

Again, what would it wait for? It will take time to get up to speed,
but acceleration starts straight away.

This worth saying, he is a sick stinkbomb, but he was right, I
overlooked the difference between the force itself and its effect.

I occasionally goof, some of the time I am wrong, in this context I
overlooked the difference between force and resulting movement, and
commented on movemenmt. It seems from your comment that you made the
same error the other way around.

The coil assembly accelerates immediately.

In this you are quite right.
