Default FS: Tubes and Input Transformers (long list)

Hi everyone,

Here’s another batch of tubes for sale. Most of these are tubes that the
dealers are bidding on, which I want to offer for sale here first, plus
a few other tubes, and some input transformers. The previous batch of
tubes finally went to the dealers, so this is mostly a new set. All
tubes are NOS in their original boxes, unless stated otherwise in the
“Brand & Notes” column. For used tubes, I also put an asterix (*) next
to the tube number. I have tested some of these, but in most cases I
will test them after you express an interest in them, and then let you
know the test results along with the shipping costs, after which you can
decide if you want to go ahead and buy them. If they are sealed in a
plastic bag, or you want a huge number of really cheap tubes, I'll ask
if you (hopefully) want me to test just a sample of them. Tubes that
have already been tested have the results shown as, for example,
"1850/1000 & 3200/2000 (95%)," which means this tube has two sections,
the first section tests at 1850 where the minimum on my Hickok 539C
tester is 1000, the second section tests at 3200 where the minimum is
2000, and the weakest section drops to 95% in the "Life Test." The Life
Test drops the heater voltage 10%, which causes most new tubes to drop
to 95% to 98% of their "Normal Test" reading. In the old days, any tube
that tested 80% or better on the Life Test was considered to have quite
a bit of life left in it, and left in the radio or TV for another year.

As before, I am listing three prices per tube type, the highest dealer
bid price I could find, the AES (Antique Electronic Supply) selling
price (or TubeWorld if AES doesn't have a selling price), and a "buy it
now" price, which is usually, but not always, 1/2 of the AES price.
Tubes with a "#" sign in front of the bid price were on the previous bid
lists, but are not on the current bid lists. Tubes with no bid price are
not on any recent bid list. I did not spend the time to research the
"open market" prices for most of these tubes, which is why most of my
"buy it now" prices are simply 1/2 of the AES price. If you offer to buy
tubes at the "buy it now" price, then I will immediately mark those
tubes as yours if they are still available, email you (I will also email
you if they are not available), and ship them as soon as I get your
payment. If you think that my "buy it now" price is too high, feel free
to offer a price between the dealer bid price and my "buy it now price."
I will wait a few days to see if anyone wants to make a higher offer or
exercise the "buy it now" option, but if you are correct about what the
price should be, then probably no one else will bid a higher amount, and
those tubes will be yours at your price. And don't worry, I will not
"play games" by telling you that someone has offered more money, in an
attempt to get you to raise your bid! If the tubes are still there after
a few days, you get them for your bid price. I may keep a few of the
"leftover" tubes, but most of them will immediately be shipped to the
dealers, hopefully by Friday morning.

You pay shipping costs only, no handling or packing fees, although this
means that I will want to make at least $5 per order over what I could
make by simply selling the tubes to the dealers. I will ship them using
your choice of USPS First Class, USPS Priority, USPS Parcel Post, UPS,
FedEx Ground or FedEx Air in the States. The least expensive method is
usually First Class (up to 13 ounces), then Parcel Post or Priority (1
or 2 pounds) then FedEx Ground (over 2 pounds). Internationally, USPS
Air Letter Post (up to 4 pounds, no insurance), and Air Parcel Post (up
to 44 pounds, insurance optional) are usually the least expensive
choices (by air). I have a good weight scale, so I can calculate the
shipping costs to the penny almost every time (unless it's within 1/5
ounce or 8 grams of a price change). For payment, I can take PayPal
(confirmed address for international sales), BidPay, a wire transfer to
my bank account, US and International Postal Money Orders, or a check,
but checks need up to two weeks to clear.

I formatted the tube list in fixed width font, so if it looks screwed
up, try putting it into a reply/composition and block change the font to
fixed width. Email me for any questions, if you want photos, etc. As
always, my apologies for the bandwidth.

8 6385 25.00 AS IF! 150.00 Bendix Red Bank, 1964, perfect!
Yes, that’s expensive, but these are ABSOLUTELY UNOBTANIUM, as well as
being much better than any other 396A/2C51/5670 tube ever made, WE
included (Google “6385 Bendix” to see reviews), and my guess is that the
price will rise to $500 in just a couple of years.

60 *8068 ---- 33.20 10.00 GE-used
Test results: min 3800, about 75% test between 5000 and 6000, 25%
between 6000 and 7000, all between 80% and 90% on the Life Test. NOS
tubes test around 8000 and 99% Life Test.

Russian tubes:
100 6C19P-B 2.50 Military, vibration resistant
300 6N2P-EB 2.50 Military
Note: the 6N2P-EB tubes are the best 6N2P tubes available, with plated
pins, military stamps, and extended life and vibration resistant
construction. The military 6C19P-B are supposed to sound much better
than the standard 6C19P tubes.

Transformers: All of these are used, but look good, with no bent pins or
broken keys.

4 4722 100.00 Peerless, 18.25:1 or 36.5:1 step-up ratio, 37.5/150 ohm
to 50 Kohm

2 15095 70.00 Peerless, 5:1 or 10:1 step-up ratio, 150/600 ohm to 15 Kohm
Actually, these were made to provide a 15K load to a preamp output tube
and convert it to a 600 ohm output, but they are often used as an input
step-up transformer, but with a slightly lower ratio that the 4722.

2 15095A 100.00 Peerless
Same as 15095 except with a separate output for the core/case. Note:
These are labeled "Peerless," NOT "Altec," and are much more rare than
the Altec labeled 15095A.
