Default Spectrum Analysis in SF . hmm???

hey guys. im trying to get the hang of the spectrum analysis in sound forge 5.0
i know its not a huge thing to learn but. why is this happening?,,,, i record a
track then i do a Bass roll off at 30hz. then i do a analysis and the low feqs
are still in the file. why is this?

Because you are using a filter that has a certain slope. If you have a
filter with a 6 dB/octave slope with a turnover frequency at 30 Hz, then
bass information at 15 Hz will be down only 6 dB. If you set it to 60 Hz,
then it will be down 6 dB at 30 Hz and 12 dB at 15 Hz.

It's not a sharp cutoff. How close to a sharp cutoff is it? That depends
on what filter you use and how you set it.
