Default Sony cdx-R30m No Power to Head

I recently installed this stereo on my boat and it appeared to work
fine. I returned several days later and could not turn the stereo on.
I checked the connections and was getting 12 volts to the stereo
(inside the wiring harness) and the fuse was fine. Spent 1/2 hour with
Sony Tech support (Clean connections on head, reset unit etc.) and they
finally said the radio was defective. Exchanged the radio last night
and got a new one. Returned to the boat today and reinstalled new
radio. Same Problems All Sony could offer was have a professional
Installer look at it.

Can anyone offer some suggestions

Thanks
