I have a 79 camaro and the trunk has many dips and variations in it. I
am planning on carpeting the trunk before i put in my sub box and my
amp rack that will be wrapped in black vinal. I was wondering if there
was anything i could do other than dump 50 pounds of wood in my trunk
to make everything look flush and even. I was thinking maybe foam
padding or something throughout the whole trunk since it would be light
wouldent rattle and i could carpet over it for a nice look. I was
wondering what your guys take on this whole situation would be. I was
also wondering if there was a kinda spray on foam that kept hard?

Two ways are either a false wood floor, or make your own moulded sub
box, and mould the base for it out of very thick fibreglass (a lot
lighter than wood).
use metal foil or masking tape down first on the floor, so when you lay
down the glass mat it doesn't permanentley stick down, and you can
remove it to build the rest of the box and cover it/paint it.

Wood is the easiest way to get a base.
Glass moulding is longer, but lighter, and when you get good looks
fantastic, and you can go all funky.
