mmmh, Now I have nothing to gain or loose but I have followed this
guy's sales for some time on ebay (I have thought of buying some spkrs)
and he seems to be an honest fellow see his rating:

and a pair of his speakers were recently reviewed he

I don't know if he operates out of his garage or a suite in a high
riser but let's not jump the gun and shoot him down. Dell and Apple
come to mind when thinking of huge companies that started out in
garages...

just my 2 cents

You're giving more credence to a "ripoff alert" than it deserves, which is
ZERO.

"OFFICIAL RAM BLUEBOOK VALUATION" is actually Brian L. McCarty, a pest on
rec.audio.marketplace, where he accuses innocent sellers of various
misdeeds.

McCarty is the owner of websites http://www.coralseastudios.com, and
http://www.worldjazz.com, both of which have used fraudulent advertising in
attempts to attract investors. Both have been unsuccessful.

McCarty is an American expatriate, originally from the Chicago area,
currently living in Cairns Australia, where he manages the Baskin-Robbins
ice cream franchise located at Shop G6, 59 The Esplanade
Cairns QLD 4870
07 4051 4034
McCarty lives in the Coral Sands apartment complex at 65 Vasey Esplanade,
Trinity beach, a bit north of metropolitan Cairns.

Baskin-Robbins Australia may be contacted at

I see what you mean, thank you for setting me straight. It is
unfortunate that people use this medium to attack others. It almost
convince me not to deal with the site mentioned... guess I should have
known better Cheers : - )

I've been following this group for a number of years.
With a SINGLE exception, there is no correlation between McCarty's "FAQ" and
any misbehavior by those he fingers.
The one exception was Randy Boggess, who was run to ground by one Dave
Palmer. McCarty had absolutely nothing to do with it, but picked up on it
after the fact.

McCarty seems to have a bug up his ass with about the profit motive. He's
been after the same people for years, usually without effect. For example,
he also claims that Sound Emporium is in some way fraudulent. I find this
interesting, because no complaint against them, except for afew forged by
McCarty, have ever appeared in this group.

I wouldn't assume that everyone is honest. There are a lot of thieves on
eBay. But they prefer items that have huge markets, such as popular home
theater equipment, rather than obscure items like headphone amps and full
range drivers. For items that are at least slightly obsolete, or "niche"
items, the risks are reasonable.

McCarty is the only person on this group who does this as a willful lie.

Thanks again, Robert, for setting the record straight. I have been a
legitimate business for many years. I have a business license, file
federal returns, and have registered my business names. I have 100%
positive feedback rating on Ebay. I also DO give money back guarantees
on many items. And I accept all forms of payment. I don't know what
this guy's problem is. David Dicks
