Have you checked the power lead for earth continuity?

Have you checked your mains sockets for earth?

I don't know what either of these means.

1. Does your power outlet have three holes and your power cord three
wires and prongs?

2. Make sure the round prong on the cord is connected to the ground on
the unit. This requires a simple continuity tester or an ohm meter
connected between the round prong and the chassis of the unit. The unit
needs to be unplugged when you conduct this test.

3. Is the round hole on the power outlet connected to earth ground?
This can be tested in a similar fashion, but will require you know where
to find a good earth ground.

4. If both of these tests are good, then your unit is well grounded and
this is not the problem.

5. If you are using a two wire cord or a two hole outlet, you likely
have a ground loop and this is causing your problem. You MUST have good
grounding.
