Consumer product designers make products that are intended to be as cheap
as possible and appeal to as many people as possible.
If they don't do what you want, if they don't work the way you want them
to, change them.
Humans are tool-using animals, it is what sets us apart from most lower
animals. Do not be afraid to void warranties, do not take some lawyer's
claim that there are no user serviceable parts inside. Change it until
it does what you want.
