Default At last the truth about Dahlquist & Saul Marantz

From an EBay listing:

Of all the audio equipment designers in the past there are none more deservedly
celebrated then Saul Marantz. Components such as the Marantz 10b tuner, 8b & 9
power amplifiers, 7c preamp, and a host of other classic products were all born
out of the company that bore his name. While the audio-engineering talents of
Saul Marantz are undeniable, perhaps his greatest attribute to the world of
audio was his uncanny ability to recognize and help cultivated design talent in
people. None of the aforementioned components would have been developed without
his extremely talented staff which included the legendary Dick Sequerra and
Sidney Smith.

About 3 years after Saul Marantz sold his company to Superscope Inc, he
discovered another great talent who was obsessed with designing the perfect
speaker. The man by trade was an engineer in the aerospace-industry and had
played a key role in the development of the lunar landing module. His name was
Jon Dahlquist and after a quick meeting Marantz sensed his greatness and
immediately formed a partnership with him.

In 1972 the Dahlquist speaker corporation was born, although it wasnt until
1973 that they introduced their defining product, the DQ-10.
