What would cause an image to shift up
or down when appying EQ/ I heard this
happen many years ago when
demosnstrating one to a potential
customer. I was standing to the left of
both speakers at the time and the
customers in front of them, we all
heard the same effect.

It would seem that the frequencies being boosted by EQ would be
reflected off of something higher in the room. I notice in my system
that high strings seem to come from higher up. An example is in the
beginning of the overture to Die Meistersinger where the violins go way
up high. This effect is even noticed on a mono recording.
