Subjectively better, I suppose.
Substitute "Are a much more accurate reproduction of the master recording"
I suspect quite often a significant *improvement* on those original
master recordings, which were made on and targeted for playback
equipment with reduced capacity to play back both the frequency and
dynamic extremes.
