IME Winamp will play 24 bit files and high smaple rate
files, if you have it set up to use an audio interface
that can handle them.

I wheeled out a machine with a M-Audio Audiophile 24/192 in it. Neither
Winamp nor Meida Player 10 will handle a 24/96 stereo .wav file.
