If I have a 24 Volts DC regulated stabilized output low ripple but
switching power supply
Can I use that for a microphone preamplifier module which requires
24VDC for operation?
Or must it be linear or I will damage the unit?
Probably little chance of "damage".
However "low ripple" depends on the context.
It is night-and-day different if you are talking about
a battery charger vs. a supply for a delicate circuit
like a mic preamp.
Beware of power supply noise getting into the preamp
circuit. Particularly a problem if it is supersonic where
you may not immediately see the adverse effects. Do you
have an oscilloscope available?
no but it was the only one I
could find it was for laptops
but Eeyore ig going to sell me
one I think
I'll tell you how to do it if you like.
