the most commonly used pilot lamp bulb is a push and twist.

That's a miniature bayonet base. There is also a submini bayonet which
is smaller.
I seem to remember that the AKG reverb lights were wedge-base ones, but
maybe not on the BX-20.
How about a photo with a ruler?
