Default pad on class A pre-amps?

(Patrick) wrote in message . com...
Hi,
I recently purchased a Sytek MPX-4A pre, and it does not have pads on
it. When taking it into a studio (where I'm going to be at a lot in
the upcoming months), it was clipping when running into a Digi002 and
both gain stages (Sytek and Digi002) were at zero. What pad would be
approrpiate to apply on the signal, -10, -20? Would someone recommend
decent manufacturers/online stores? Thanks in advance,
Patrick

I also have the Sytek MPX-4A. My only addition to the other posts, is
if you have budget restraints, to purchase instead of the switchable
ones, set -20 db ones, which should work for practically any situation
and which cost much less. Of course it´s better to have the option of
changing them, so if you have the money, get the others. The pres are
nice and you´ll be happy once you get a good signal into your system.
