The F. Alton Everest book on small studio acoustics is good, but the
math is also in the big Master Handbook of Acoustics.

There are also a bunch of room mode calculators out on the web. Here is one:

I haven't tried this one, but it's not all that hard to do with a desk
calculator so a java applet should be easy to do...
