Default Power conditioner or power cord or something else

Please stop the unnecessary argument or flaming others.
Again, I would like to seek some useful advice on how to more fully
unleash my audio system.

Recently, I had a chance to borrow a Goldmund power cord and did hear
audible difference on my system. Therefore, I want to find out more if
it is worthwhile to invest in power cords or a power conditioner or
better to save and upgrade later.

Which of following is more effect?
1. Power cords (costly if getting for each component)
2. Power conditioner + cheap original manufacturers' cord (should be
cheaper than 1.)

Any recommendation on power conditioners? Chang Lightspeed, PS Audio,
etc? Power cord? XLO, Cardas, etc?

My musical taste is mainly classical (symphonies, operas, piano, violin)
with some soft rock.

Do something where it will make the biggest difference. Treat your
listening room. You may think it sounds good, but I assure you that there
is always something that can be done to improve it. It is a tweakers
paradise. Position a panel here, turn a panel there. Find some heavy
cloth and cover a window. There is all manner of stuff you can do to
improve things.

How is your bass response? Have any "booms" in the room? Try some pipe
organ. Cab you hear/feel that 17hz bass note? Where do your speakers
start to drop off? Get a RS SPL meter and take some measurements using
warble tones. Plot a graph and then take steps to correct it. You may
want to look into a parametric equalizer if you have a boom or two. You
will get bigger and better positive results doing the room treatment and
response plotting, etc. than all the power cords, speaker cables and
interconnects in the world will do.
